Rocky Mountain National Park is where your soul meets heaven.
There is something about the mountains that makes time slow down.
The endless peaks.
The quiet trails.
The golden light dancing across the valleys.
It is a place where stories feel bigger, emotions feel deeper, and love feels beautifully timeless.
Kendall and Zach’s journey to Colorado was years in the making—a story built on friendship, distance, adventure, resilience, and choosing each other again and again.
From High School Friends to Forever
Kendall and Zach first met during their high school years, graduating in 2012 and 2011.
After graduation, life took them in different directions.
Zach headed to Ball State University, while Kendall attended Indiana University Bloomington.
Then, in 2017, fate brought them back together.
Zach had recently moved to Colorado.
Kendall had started her Master’s program at IU.
And their mutual friend Mike was getting married.
They were both invited separately, but Kendall decided to ask Zach a very important question…
Would he be her date?
That one wedding invitation changed everything.
A Love Story Across the Miles
What began as a wedding date turned into a beautiful long-distance adventure between Colorado and Indiana.
For more than two years, they traveled back and forth, making every visit count.
Every 4–6 weeks they found their way back to each other, creating memories that became the foundation of their relationship.
Some of their favorite adventures included:
- Their first Red Rocks concert together seeing Portugal. The Man
- Exploring the Denver Botanic Gardens
- Countless Colorado hiking adventures
- Skydiving for Zach’s 25th birthday
- An unexpected extra week together when a massive snowstorm changed Kendall’s travel plans
Distance was never easy, but every mile was worth it.
Building a Life Together in Colorado
On July 4, 2019, Kendall made the move from Indiana to Colorado with her dog, Potter, to join Zach and his dog, Ham.
And just like that, their family of four began their Colorado chapter.
They built a home.
They explored new trails.
They created a life filled with adventure, laughter, and everyday moments together.
Then life tested them in an unexpected way.
After a devastating accidental house fire in fall 2020, they spent more than a year displaced from their home.
But together, they rebuilt.
They returned home in October 2021 stronger than before.
To celebrate this new chapter, they booked the trip they had dreamed about for years:
Italy.
A Proposal in Venice
In April 2022, Kendall and Zach spent 12 unforgettable days exploring Italy.
They wandered through Venice, Florence, Cinque Terre, and Rome—soaking in the beauty, history, and romance of each place.
But the most unforgettable moment happened on their very first day.
Inside their rental apartment in Venice, overlooking the Grand Canal, Zach asked Kendall the question that would forever change their story.
And she said yes.
Their Colorado Adventure Continues

To long-distance partners…
To adventure companions…
To building a home together in Colorado…
Kendall and Zach’s story is a beautiful reminder that the best love stories are not always the easiest ones.
They are the ones built through patience.
Through choosing each other.
Through every adventure, every challenge, and every new beginning.
