As I reflect on my childhood spent exploring the wild beauty of alpine lakes and European trails, I am reminded of the deep connection I have with nature. Standing at the peak of a 12,000-foot mountain in the Rocky Mountains, I am transported back to my childhood in the alpine tundra of Tatrzanski Park Narodowy. The familiar scents and sights flood my senses, anchoring me to a place of pure joy and innocence. Cinema has been a huge inspiration for filmmaking, movement and the selective focus capturing sensual details. I might have been a hummingbird in the previous life. I am truly obsessed with these tiny creatures and their adventures.
My husband and I met on adventure on Monhegan Island, Maine in 2000, 23 years ago. Feel free to ask about it when we hike up the trail, it's quite a story! One day I will write a novel about it. It's probably the most romantic thing that we have experienced together.
I'm a light chaser. I will be the first one to convince you the best time to start your big day is at 4am at sunrise among the alpine tundra where the light dances among the alpine glow with wildflowers and the breeze. The place where I leave a piece of my soul every time I hike among those sacred trails.
Most days you can find us hosting friends for dinners ( I drink his beer, Blake makes the food) My husband, Blake (who also happens to be a very talented chef and craft brewer at Six Capital Brewing ) is my rock support, love of my life and partner in all crazy things we tackle in our daily adventures. We have been together 25 years, married for 24 of those, meaning I've spent more days of my life with him than without. Since Blake and I met in Maine, we call our son "Lobster." These two guys are my everything. They are my happy place.
