Their Love Story
Every adventure begins somewhere — and for Tanda and Stephen, theirs started in the most unexpected way.
They met at work about six and a half years before their Colorado adventure elopement. Their first conversation happened completely by accident.
Stephen worked in another section of the store, and Tanda mistook him for a customer who needed help finding something. What started as a simple question turned into a long conversation that lasted through his entire break.
From that very first interaction, there was an easy connection.
A few weeks later, a position opened in Tanda’s area, and Stephen joined her team. For the next year, they were simply friends — spending Saturdays cleaning their work area together, talking about everything, and challenging each other to beat high scores on phone games during their breaks.
Those small everyday moments slowly became something more.
When Stephen eventually moved to another job, they lost touch for a few months. Then, one day, while helping a customer, Tanda called another store and heard a familiar voice answer the phone.
It was Stephen.
Later that evening, he messaged her to thank her for sending him a new customer. That simple message opened the door to reconnecting outside of work.
What began as a friendship naturally grew into a relationship.
About a year and a half later, Stephen moved in, and together they built a life filled with love, partnership, and commitment. He helped Tanda raise her younger brother, they bought a home together, and they continued creating a future side by side.
When they decided to make their commitment “official,” it was not the beginning of their story — it was a celebration of everything they had already built together.
Their Colorado adventure elopement was a reflection of that journey: intentional, meaningful, and focused on the love they had created over the years.
