MONET INSPIRED MICRO-COVID WEDDING WITH HARVEST HUES : INTIMATE WEDDING GUIDE

Imagine a scene straight out of a Monet painting – lush, vibrant hues of harvest colors painted across the sky, reflecting off a serene lakeside setting. Now add in the intimate setting of a micro wedding, where every detail is carefully curated to create an unforgettable experience for the couple tying the knot. This was the setting for Pat and Grace’s I Do’s, a beautiful love story captured in the midst of a global pandemic.

As a photographer specializing in intimate weddings and elopements in Colorado, I have witnessed countless love stories unfold in the most breathtaking settings. But there was something truly special about Pat and Grace’s wedding day. The way the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a golden glow over the water as they exchanged vows, it was like something out of a dream.

The love and connection between Pat and Grace was palpable, every glance and touch speaking volumes about the deep bond they shared. As I clicked away, capturing each moment of their special day, I couldn’t help but be in awe of the love they shared and the beauty of the setting surrounding us.

The pandemic may have changed the way we celebrate weddings, but it hasn’t diminished the joy and love that fills these intimate gatherings. If anything, it has allowed couples to focus on what truly matters – each other. And as a photographer, I am grateful to play a small part in preserving these precious memories for years to come.

So here’s to Pat and Grace, and to all the couples out there who are finding new ways to celebrate their love in the midst of uncertainty. May your love continue to bloom like the vibrant colors of a Monet painting, creating a lasting masterpiece that will stand the test of time. Cheers to love, to joy, and to the magic of intimate weddings in the heart of Colorado.

Our love story started in Colorado the summer of 2017. Patrick was on tour with his band, Dr. Joe, from Austin, TX. Grace was at the show because Joe happened to be her friend from dental school. After the show, some flirtatious banter was exchanged, footsie was played over a plate of nachos, and our connection was almost instant. The after party continued at the infamous “round house” on Horsetooth Reservoir where we danced until the sun came up. We continued our relationship long distance for about a year and a half. After thousands of miles traveled and many adventures along the way, Patrick finally made the move to Denver. We quickly realized we were kindred spirits and wanted to spend forever together. While back in San Antonio visiting family and friends, Patrick proposed to Grace and she of course said yes!!

We had originally planned a 2021 New Year’s wedding with 250+ people, but COVID-19 had different plans for us. In order to keep our loved ones safe, we decided we would postpone the big celebration until next year. We asked our original venue in Austin if we could postpone until New Year’s of 2022, but that weekend was already booked as was almost every other Friday/Saturday in 2021. So instead we decided to pick another date that had significance to us. Patrick’s parents’ 49th wedding anniversary happened to be September 12, 2020 which means it will be their 50th wedding anniversary in 2021. With less than a month to plan, we decided to get married with twenty five immediate family and close friends in Grace’s brother’s beautiful backyard in Golden. We hope to celebrate our 1 year and Patrick’s parents’ 50th anniversary next year in Austin!

We were so incredibly lucky that Justyna was free to photograph our special day on such short notice! Words do not even begin to describe what a wonderful day it was and Justyna captured it.
