You got me and I have got us through this crazy thing called life.
You Got Me, And I’ve Got Us Through This Crazy Thing Called Life
Our journey began when we were young and, honestly, pretty naive.
We were both 21.
I was in college, working what felt like a million jobs—I think five at the time—and he had just taken over his dad’s business. We were on completely different paths and weren’t really looking for each other.
We were both workhorses.
Driven.
Curious.
Always excited about whatever came next.
Somehow, we just fit.
We motivated each other, balanced each other, and understood each other in a way that felt effortless.
Three years later, we were married.
And Then Life Happened
We were both from Arizona, but I had always felt the pull toward something different.
I went back to school for cosmetology and was getting ready to move to New York City after landing a job there. But my husband’s business—and the life we were building together—kept us in Arizona.
Then, a year later, everything changed.
His business expanded into Colorado, and suddenly we found ourselves packing up our life and moving to Denver with our first son, who was just one year old.
I had no idea what my next chapter would look like.
So I kept doing hair.
Eventually, I found my way into wedding hair and makeup. I had dabbled in it back in Arizona, but Colorado opened an entirely new door for me.
And I walked right through it.
Somewhere Along The Way, I Found My Calling
Traveling all over Colorado and becoming part of someone’s favorite and most memorable day changed everything for me.
I’ve always loved the performance side of life. I grew up as a dancer, so movement, emotion, creativity, and storytelling have always been part of who I am.
Wedding days gave me a new way to create.
To inspire.
To connect.
To make something beautiful.
And while I was building my career, my husband was building his.
We grew our businesses side by side, always fueled by the same things that had brought us together in the first place:
Adventure. Change. Curiosity.
Then We Added Three More Little Humans To The Story
Two more little humans joined our family, and suddenly our family of five was ready for another adventure.
So we did what probably made perfect sense to us at the time.
We sold our house.
Bought an RV.
And hit the road.
We continued working with our Colorado clients while traveling, learning, exploring, and figuring out what this next chapter of life would look like.
It wasn’t always easy.
But it was ours.
And that’s something I’ve come to value more and more over the years.
We Don’t Need To Know Exactly What’s Next
Our journey is still changing.
For now, we’ve settled for a little while in Nathrop, Colorado—a place where we can slow down, grow, create, and appreciate the life we’ve built.
We still believe in each other.
In what we create.
In changing direction when something no longer feels right.
In dreaming about what’s next.
And most of all, in giving each other the freedom to become whoever we’re meant to become.
Because life isn’t a straight line.
It’s a winding mountain road.
Sometimes you know where you’re going.
Sometimes you take the wrong turn.
Sometimes you stop just because the view is too beautiful to keep driving.
And sometimes the best parts happen when you have absolutely no idea what’s around the next bend.
You Got Me. And I’ve Got Us.
After all these years, I think that’s what we’ve learned.
We don’t need to have everything figured out.
We just need to keep choosing each other.
Through the changes.
The uncertainty.
The adventures.
The quiet seasons.
The crazy ones.
The moments when everything feels beautifully clear and the moments when we’re simply figuring it out as we go.
We long for adventure, but we’ve also learned to appreciate the stillness within it.
The quiet mornings.
The long drives.
The unexpected detours.
The wandering.
The moments when you stop trying to get somewhere and realize you’re already exactly where you’re supposed to be.
That’s the life I want to photograph, too.
Not perfection.
Not performance.
Connection.
The real, messy, beautiful, wildly imperfect kind.
Because at the end of the day, it’s not about having the perfect story.
It’s about having someone beside you through all of it.
You got me.
And I’ve got us.
Through this crazy, beautiful thing called life.
