When Nature Calls
Our love story began with a simple swipe. Dominick was scrolling through TikTok when he stumbled upon my live stream. He kicked things off with a cheesy pick-up line, followed by sending gifts. What started as playful exchanges quickly turned into daily messages and phone calls. Just a short time later, on a whim, we decided I would fly from Wisconsin to Colorado to meet each other in person for the first time. Neither of us had set out to find love online, especially not on TikTok, but sometimes life has a funny way of surprising you.
That first weekend together was everything we had hoped for and more, and it set the stage for a relationship full of love and adventure. We continued visiting each other as often as we could. Dominick met my two boys, who immediately warmed to him, and before long, we were talking about building a life together.
Four months into our relationship, Dominick made the move to Wisconsin, and we settled into our first apartment as a family. Then, eleven months later, during the Fourth of July parade—where he and the boys were riding in a firetruck, Dominick stopped in the middle of the route to ask me the most important question of my life: “What are you doing for the next forty or fifty years? I was wondering if you wouldn’t mind marrying me very much.”
The months that followed were filled with excitement and stress as we began planning our wedding— choosing a location, figuring out the details, and realizing just how expensive everything would be. Eventually, we decided to do what felt right for us: elope in the breathtaking Rocky Mountains with just our closest family. And that’s exactly what we did on August 1, 2024. It was a perfect day—one where we could focus entirely on our love for each other and the beauty that surrounded us.
2024 has been a monumental year for us: buying our first home, getting married, getting a puppy, and now, discovering that we’re expecting our first baby together. We are filled with gratitude for this beautiful, blessed life we’re building, and we can’t wait to see what the future holds.
